India Reached the Moon. Why Does One Certificate Still Take Months?
India has achieved remarkable milestones.
We have sent missions to the Moon.
We have built a world-leading digital payments ecosystem.
We have become one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world.
Our scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and citizens continue to make Bharat proud on the global stage.
Yet for many ordinary citizens, a simple question remains.
Why do some government services still take weeks or months to complete?
Whether it is obtaining a certificate, updating records, securing approvals, or accessing public services, many citizens continue to face delays, repeated visits, paperwork, and uncertainty.
This is not a criticism of any one government.
This challenge has existed across different governments, different states, and different decades.
The real issue is not politics.
The real issue is efficiency.
When a citizen applies for a service, the process should be transparent.
People should know:
• What documents are required.
• How long the process will take.
• Who is responsible for the application.
• What action is pending.
• When the service will be delivered.
Technology has already transformed banking, communication, commerce, and payments.
Why shouldn't every citizen experience the same convenience when interacting with government services?
A citizen-friendly government is not measured by announcements alone.
It is measured by how easily a citizen can access services without unnecessary delays.
The goal should be simple:
Less paperwork.
Less waiting.
Less confusion.
More transparency.
More accountability.
More trust.
India has demonstrated that it can achieve extraordinary things when it sets ambitious goals.
The next challenge is equally important.
Making every government service simple, transparent, and citizen-friendly.
The question is not who is responsible for the delays.
The question is how we solve them.
Because development is not only about reaching the Moon.
Development is also about making everyday life easier for every citizen.
